With a population of just around 4 million, Greater Copenhagen has it all: Copenhagen City and Malmö City – two trendy, vibrant metropolises – miles of white beaches, breathtaking coastal cliffs and numerous small family-friendly towns within short distances of and with easy access to the city.
Greater Copenhagen offers high living standards, a unique work-life balance and opportunities for the entire family.

Beer, breakfast and buddies
Work in Greater Copenhagen is so much more than working. People very often have breakfast and lunch together and share a beer after work, and companies usually arrange summer and Christmas parties, soccer games and other activities that make your colleagues more than just people you share an office space with.

Moreover, local organisations such as Interactive Denmark and DADIU often set up events, talks and game jams, where you can meet other professional developers and talk about your newest experiments – or just hang out and have fun.

An expat life in the land of Andersen’s fairy tales
Greater Copenhagen offers several spectacular sights such as the Queen’s Palace, the Kronborg Castle also known as “Hamlet’s Castle”, the Tivoli Gardens and Hans Christian Andersen’s famous Little Mermaid sitting on the Copenhagen waterfront.
But that’s not all that’s familiar, as Greater Copenhagen is home to many nationalities, including citizens from China, USA, Canada, Japan, Russia, Australia and India.
The expat community is very active, organising language programmes, competence building and social events for expats as well as accompanying spouses. And don’t forget that 9 out of 10 Danes speak English and love to engage with new members of the community.
